As a Technical Project Manager, you will oversee our project management team, ensuring the successful delivery of complex technical projects. Job Requirements

1. Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Lead and mentor a small team of project managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Assist production teams in refining, reviewing, and problem-solving to meet delivery targets and outcomes.
2. Project Planning and Execution:
  • Plan, execute, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, providing necessary information for business/project decisions.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, updating stakeholders and addressing any issues.
4. Process Improvement and Compliance:
  • Define, implement, and review standards and working processes for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and company standards throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Tools and Technology Utilisation:
  • Utilise project management tools such as JIRA, Slack, and Confluence to track progress and communicate effectively.
  • Maintain the backlog of work tasks, ensuring tasks are well-defined and JIRA is kept up-to-date.
  • Perform general administration tasks in JIRA, Confluence, and Slack.
6. Roadmap and Resource Management:
  • Own the roadmap/release plan, managing and communicating release dates, and keeping relevant documentation updated.
  • Manage the resource plan, liaising with department heads to ensure team capacity is aligned with project demands.
  • Perform Scrum Master duties, including planning sprints, facilitating daily stand-ups, and conducting release retrospectives.
8. Communication and Reporting:
  • Communicate project status and concerns on an ongoing basis.
  • Report useful analysis of work, such as capacity planning and progress against plans.
9. Documentation and Support:
  • Ensure specifications are accurately captured and shared.
  • Aid production teams and prioritise workload.
  • Organise maintenance messages and assist the support team in producing help documentation for new features.
10. Administrative Tasks:
  • Ensure timesheets are completed accurately and on time.
  • Book and facilitate meetings, ensuring meeting notes and actions are documented and relevant JIRA tasks are created.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a technical project management role.
  • Proven experience leading technical projects and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Slack, and Confluence.
  • Technical competency in IT, including understanding of software development, system architecture, and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, with a willingness to be in the Liverpool office several days a week.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is a plus.
Day-to-Day Role
  • Maintain and update development schedules to easily determine and manage progress against plans.
  • Communicate project status regularly, addressing any delivery concerns as they arise.
  • Provide useful analysis of work, including capacity planning and progress tracking.
  • Maintain momentum on ongoing tasks, fostering a high-performance culture within the team.
  • Ensure JIRA is kept up-to-date, maintaining a well-defined backlog of work tasks.
  • Perform Scrum Master duties, including planning sprints, facilitating daily stand-ups, and conducting release retrospectives.
  • Book and facilitate meetings, document meeting notes and actions, and create relevant JIRA tasks.
  • Plan and communicate release dates, keep release plans and notes up-to-date, organise maintenance messages, and assist the support team with documentation for new features.
  • Accurately capture and share project specifications.
  • Assist all production teams, prioritising workload effectively.
  • Continuously review, standardise, and document processes for improvement.
  • Perform general administration tasks in JIRA, Confluence, and Slack.
  • Ensure timesheets are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Undertake other tasks as required, including ad hoc administrative duties.
