In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire.

Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time. And this allows Science in Sport to have the highest standards of quality.


Science in Sport is Performance Solutions partner to Ineos Grenadiers cycling team, Tottenham Hotspur, New York City and OGC Nice football clubs, in addition to being the Official Nutrition Partner to the Milwaukee Bucks, 2021 National Basketball Association Champions and in 2023, winner of the women's marathon at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Gotytom Gebreslase.


The Role

People operations and administration is a critical function here at Science in Sport Group; ensuring people administration is completed accurately and efficiently and our people leaders in the respective business areas are equipped with the tools and knowledge to complete their roles effectively.

As the business has grown, the requirements of the People Team have grown alongside it and our employee base now stands at circa 220 people across two sites in the UK.


The employee experience is at the heart of all we do at Science in Sport and this role will support the foundations of that experience and ensure we are consistent and compliant throughout our business.

The work - Your 4 most important responsibilities

Documentation & Data - Ensure all administration processes are reviewed to identify and lead on process improvements end to end of the employee lifecycle including pre-boarding, in-role and exit documentation. You will be responsible for the maintenance of these processes and ensuring that this information is accurate and stored securely on our HR system or within the employee files. Similarly, ensure we are complying with GDPR and that our document management is fit for purpose and compliant.

People / HR Processes and Policy - Ensure all policies are up to date, communicated and adhered to. Working with stakeholders to implement in practice and where relevant to support them in their daily people activities.

Efficiency - Drive continuous improvement and evolution of our internal ways of working to improve efficiency within the team and enable managers and employees to access information and support quickly.

Reporting & Insights - Produce reports and dashboards that give a clear view of our people experience and trends across the business as a whole and within departments and teams. Distil relevant insights that will steer our people activities and identify priority work.

Accountability - what you are responsible for delivering

  • Ensuring all aspects of administration and employee documentation are created, maintained and readily available in the employee files.
  • Being the owner of the HR systems, maintaining data accuracy and compliance.
  • Being the conduit between the People and Payroll teams, ensuring that the number one task of paying people correctly is always met.
  • Working with managers and the people operations manager to provide timely and relevant advice and support for queries received through our People inbox.
  • Contributing to driving a culture of continuous professional development, facilitating learning interventions for technical and soft skills development.
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of upskilling that enables managers to confidently carry out their people management responsibilities.
  • Creating documents and supporting information enabling employees to find answers to their questions easily.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders on firstline people related matters extending to grievances and disciplinaries.
  • Supporting the team where relevant with ER cases where require, including notetaking
