Our UK Tunnel and Underground Space team continues to grow, and we are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to help shape that growth.


Ramboll is seeking a design focused Tunnel and Underground Space engineer with 10-15 years of experience to join our team in London.

As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of innovative, sustainable, and high-quality design solutions and also supporting the technical development of the junior engineers.

You'll be joining colleagues from all over the world working on a wide range of projects both nationally and internationally.

By combining local experience and insights with our global knowledge base, we provide our clients with the most qualified expertise to deliver the best solutions.

We also offer a complete service by acting as trusted advisers to our clients at every stage of the project life:
from strategy development and planning to detailed design and execution.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting the team in tasks including design analysis, reports, drawings, and tendering
  • Development and delivery of innovative, sustainable, and highquality design solutions
  • Project management including managing risks and opportunities in all project phases
  • Contributing to the development of junior engineers

For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • Master's degree in Engineering and/or Science (MSc, MEng or similar)
  • Chartership (MICE CEng)
  • Strong capabilities and experience in tunnel & underground space projects
  • Experience in numerical modelling and leading design automation tasks
  • Good team working and problemsolving skills


Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include a passion for delivering innovative and high-quality design solutions.

You must also be a confident communicator with a pro-active approach to collaboration and your own development.
