Gatwick/Heathrow , looking to recruit new

Cabin Mechanics

to join their team in either Gatwick or Heathrow.

This is a

Permanent Position

based in Gatwick/Heathrow.n40 hours per week, working days from 7am - 7pm Monday - Thursday

(occasional night shifts may be required in the future).

The RolenThe primary purpose of this role is to provide support to the Aircraft Maintenance department regarding all cabin maintenance.


Other duties involve:
nBe proficient in maintaining aircraft to the appropriate standardnResponsible for planning and leading the work of cabin mechanicsnRead and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged componentsnAssemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power toolsnReplace and replenish aircraft fluids, including fuel, oils and lubricantsnPrepare and paint aircraft surfacesnRemove or install aircraft componentsnMaintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenancenMaintain, repair, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts such as wings and fuselage, rigging, hydraulic units, oxygen systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, gaskets, and sealsnCommunicate with other workers to coordinate fitting and alignment of heavy parts, or to facilitate processing of repair partsnInventory and requisition or order supplies, parts, materials, and equipmentnMaintain awareness and knowledge of regulatory requirements and any associated changes in relation to UK CAA Part 145, Part M and Part 66nMaintain awareness and knowledge of requirements and any associated changes in relation to company health and safety policies and procedures as they apply to aircraft maintenance operations, with specific focus on working at height and the use of plant & machinerynMaintain an up-to-date aircraft maintenance logbook to demonstrate level of experience and competence gained through the completion of a variety of tasks

Skills and experience required:
nIn order to be successful in this role the

Cabin Mechanic

will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:nA recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similarnUnderstanding of regulatory requirements in relation to Part 145nProven work history in a P145 Base Maintenance/Aviation environmentnUnderstanding of Health & Safety, Human Factors and Compliance requirementsnHave a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production PlanningnRight to live and work in the UK
