We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to work 20 hours a week in our office in Barnstaple, the successful applicant will have good all-round accounting knowledge and previous experience working in a finance environment.

Required to start as soon as possible.

Duties:

  • Purchase ledger, including posting supplier invoices, credits, matching invoices to orders, paying suppliers and reconciling to supplier statements
  • Sales Ledger, posting customer receipts, producing month end statements, reminders and credit control
  • Daily Bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile credit card statements and charge to correct expense accounts
  • Dealing with suppliers and customers
  • Produce and process month end reports
  • Compile year end file for submission to accountants
  • Processing payroll and maintaining annual leave records
  • Prepare and process quarterly VAT returns

Requirements:

  • Previous accounts experience essential
  • Ideally qualified to AAT Level
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Computer literate, including use of all the normal software associated with a modern office
  • Able to work on own initiative to a high standard

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Salary:
£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
