Finance Analyst Opportunity at Wembley

Our client in Wembley is on the lookout for a detail-oriented finance professional to step into the role of a self-motivated Finance Analyst. This position plays a crucial role in providing vital financial support to various departments.

This opportunity offers the chance to be a part of influencing key financial decisions and processes within the organization.

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, monthly monitoring, statutory reporting, and control functions
  • Provide expert advice on financial issues such as banking and pre-paid card systems
  • Prepare statutory annual accounts and extend support for statutory reporting
  • Handle Oracle System and business operational reconciliations
  • Support service areas with budget projections, offer critical analysis, and challenges
  • Ensure stringent internal controls for financial matters
  • Timely submission of accurate financial returns to internal and external bodies
  • Assist in month-end and year-end processes, including performance reporting
  • Maintain and update the asset register
  • Manage the team's tax strategies, ensuring compliance and penalty avoidance
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations and validations for control functions
  • Produce statistical data, address FOI requests, and mitigate fraud risks

Requirements:

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. ACCA, CIMA preferred

Experience:

Proven track record in a financial analyst role, ideally within public sector or council environment

Skills:

Excellent analytical skills, expertise in Oracle Systems, and strong communication abilities

Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff members

This position is a 3-month temporary role.
