We are looking to appoint a Lecturer or Team Leader of Physics (full time/part time), to join our Science A Level and Vocational Team.At Bury College, you will join a passionate team of teachers and staff supporting our vibrant students. As part of our A level provision we are developing our Science Team. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow, inspire and develop, this is the role for you.Our main areas of responsibility will fall under the areas of:Operational and strategic planning (including lesson planning, developing resources and syllabuses, and contributing to the departmental plan)Staff development (including continuing professional development and engaging fully in the Performance Management Review process)Quality assurance (including contributing to the process of monitoring and evaluating the subject area)Management of information (including maintaining appropriate records and tracking student progress)Communications with students, parents and other stakeholdersPastoral system (including being a form tutor to a selected group of students)Teaching, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for studentsQualifications & ExperienceThe successful candidate will: Hold a relevant teaching qualification and a subject relevant undergraduate degreeHave successful teaching experienceUnderstand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learningUnderstand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutorHave knowledge of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' workBe able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff and studentsHave a good level of ICT skills, ideally including innovative use of interactive white boards and Microsoft suiteBe able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all studentsBe able to communicate positively with parents, carers and other external agencies where necessaryHave good written and spoken communication skillsBe able to lead and manage their own work effectivelyHave excellent time management skillsBe able to motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies** For academic year 24/25 eligible teachers could receive a premium payment of up to £6,000 ** (further details available on request)About UsBury College is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to full time and part time students each year.Dedicated to providing the communities we serve with a broad choice of learning options, Bury College offers a range of A Level courses, vocational programmes, and apprenticeships.
