Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with a modern style and established firm of chartered accountants based in Gateshead, looking to bring in a Bookkeeper to bolster their growing team.

The Role

As a Bookkeeper a typical day could include:

  • Effective and efficient processing of client data from a variety of sources.
  • Account reconciliations, bank reconciliation, accounts preparation up to trial balance.
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Professional liaison with/providing support to clients.
  • Assistance with client on boarding and engagement processes.
  • Anything else you wish to get involved with to enable progression.

The Requirements and Process

To qualify for this role as a Bookkeeper, you should:

  • Be part or fully AAT qualified or have similar bookkeeping qualifications (not a must).
  • Be happy, positive attitude and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Have a minimum or 2 years' experience working in an accountancy/bookkeeping practice.
  • Have the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Be highly organised.
  • Have experience of Xero or QuickBooks and apps like Dext, or similar cloud accounting software will be advantageous.
