Applications are invited from psychology graduates enthusiastic about working with people with dementia.

The post is full time hours (37.5 hours) and is based in a Memory Assessment Service at Breightmet Health Centre, Bolton.

The post is available on a permanent contract.

PLEASE ONLY APPLY FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU MEET ALL OF THE ESSENTIAL CRITERIA DETAILED IN THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION, including an undergraduate psychology degree and post degree experience.

YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE CRITERIA.

Work will involve conducting psychological and neuropsychological assessments related to the diagnostic process for dementia, and relevant post-diagnostic interventions with service users and their families.

The post holder will work under clinical psychology supervision.

The Psychology Team consists of a principal clinical psychologist, a clinical psychologist, and trainees on placement who are all a core part of the wider service MDT.

We have good links with the Northwest clinical psychology training programmes and the BPS Faculty of the Psychology of Older People (FPOP).

The postholder would also have links with the wider Older People's psychology service in GMMH.

As a group we meet twice annually for continuing professional development, as well as other regular forums, and opportunities for further training are encouraged and supported.

Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust employs over 6,400 members of staff, who deliver services from more than 160 locations.

We provide inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, the city of Manchester, Salford, Trafford and the borough of Wigan, and a wide range of specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester is one of the world's most innovative, original and exciting places to live and work.

From the beauty of the surrounding countryside to the heart of the vibrant inner city with great shopping, entertainment and dining options.

Wherever you go you will experience a great northern welcome with people famed for their warmth, humour and generosity.

Our people enjoy their work, have opportunities to learn and develop their skills and are encouraged to generate new ideas that improve care for our service users.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate experience of, or a high level of enthusiasm/commitment to, working with older people with or without dementia and/or conducting neuropsychological assessments.

Applicants able to show a good understanding of the needs of this client group will be preferred. Experience of working within multidisciplinary environments will also be an advantage.
