Corporate Governance Manager (Temporary)

Duration: 3-6 months (potential for extension)


The Corporate Governance Manager will play a key role in maintaining the highest levels of corporate governance for and ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.

The post holder will act as the deputy to the Board Secretary and beresponsible for the Boards assurance committees.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Corporate Governance Manager:

  • Arranging and producing agendas, papers, action logs, forward plans, minutes, and other materials for the Board and its committees
  • Facilitating the effective working of the Boards by attending and minuting meetings and ensuring an accurate record of discussions and decisions
  • Developing and coordinating the annual program of business for key meetings
  • Providing coordination and participating in relevant internal and external working groups
  • Ensuring that committees are properly constituted and have clear terms of reference
  • Providing assistance to the Board and committees in anticipating, aligning, and integrating relevant risks
  • Ensuring compliance with the relevant legislative framework and good standards of corporate governance
  • Acting as a point of communication between staff and the Board
  • Providing timely advice and support to staff on all areas of corporate governance

Profile

The successful Corporate Governance Manager will have:

  • Master's degree or demonstrable experience in a Senior Corporate Governance role
  • Specialised knowledge in corporate/information governance
  • Specialist knowledge of relevant legislation and policy management
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Senior Management experience
  • Significant experience of governance in an NHS or other public sector setting
  • Experience of facilitating the delivery of investigation in relation to service Improvement
  • Experience of working with and influencing stakeholders across any level
  • Can respond to situations using own initiative
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of strategic policy context in the NHS
  • Ability to write high quality reports and operate effectively in meetings
  • Proven ability to articulate and communicate highly complex ideas to a wide range of audiences, on a onetoone basis or in small or large groups
