The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for performing the full cycle, end to end payroll and benefits function for Dr.

S. payrolls along with full benefits administration.
Independently manage full cycle, end to end payrolls for all positions in both union and non-unionized environments.

  • Processing for hourly, salaried and contract employees within various pay cycles.
  • Onboarding, offboarding and maintaining current employee data within the ADP WFN system.
  • Manage various pension and benefit accounts including registrations and updates to related changes of current employee base; updating deduction and contribution rates and reconciliations between vendor record, payroll and accounting, and filing of all 3rd party contributions and premiums.
  • Prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger via SAP.
  • Manage and reconcile accounts related to payroll deductions and contributions within the general ledger.
  • Partner with the Payroll & Benefits Manager and the People & Culture Team to support project management, efficiency initiatives, compliance and reporting.
  • Manage and respond to payroll and benefit related inquiries.
Professional payroll designation, minimum (PCP) preferred.

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Exposure to payroll processing and policy compliance within a unionized environment.
  • Some SAP experience.
  • Accounting experience (a/p, a/r, reconciling to g/l) preferred.
  • 5 years of payroll and benefits processing experience preferred.
  • Acute awareness of working in compliance with both internal and external policies and legislative requirements.
