20 Hours per week (mornings & afternoons) - Salary: £12.50 per hour

The Role
We are looking for a 'Funeral Admin-Arranger' to join our team.

You do not need to have any experience within the funeral services industry as mentoring and full training will be given.

Our Funeral Admin-Arrangers are an integral part of our team. They are caring, supportive and have an unrelenting attitude to helping our families at an incredibly difficult time.


They are often the first point of contact for a bereaved family and have incredible supportive, interpersonal and listening skills.

Together, with their strong administrative and attentive nature to detail, able to fully guide our families through the whole funeral process.


As well as supporting families in making funeral arrangements, Funeral Admin-Arrangers are responsible for ensuring all the relevant paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and on time.

They are also responsible for providing a detailed handover to their other funeral team colleagues.

  • Arrangers also have an important role within the community. They build strong working relationships and often organise fundraising activities to support organisations locally.

We have an opportunity for a self-motivated, well organised, computer literate member of staff, with good interpersonal skills with a high level for attention to detail.

Duties:

  • Overseeing and organising the daytoday running of the funeral home.
  • Maintain the high levels of cleanliness within the funeral home.
  • Communicating and liaising with families, clients, external partners and colleagues on a daily basis.
  • Perform general office duties, such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
  • Oversee visits for families wishing to pay their respects
  • Arranging and organising funeral services, funeral plans and memorial masonry with families face to face.
  • Full mentoring and training will be provided
  • Able to effectively hand over or take over tasks from colleagues
  • Build positive relationships in the local community
  • Help with the manual handling of coffins and the deceased
  • Managing financial transactions and handing monies and cheques as required
  • Complete mandatory CPD, continuous professional development

Skills:

  • A compassionate, sympathetic nature with high levels of empathy, discretion and care
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and importantly, independently because at times, you'll be the only one in the funeral home.
  • Strong organisation skills. The ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively and manage strict deadlines.
  • A strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexible to moving situations the roles brings
  • Flexible to assist colleague cover at times
  • Smart and presentable at all times
  • Please note that heavy lifting may be required for this position.

Job Type:

Part-time hours: 20 per week
