We are excited to present an opportunity to join a highly successful Global Energy Trading company that holds a prominent position in key markets worldwide.

You will become an integral part of the Credit team, which plays a crucial role in managing credit risk. This includes assessing counterparties, conducting KYC checks, negotiating credit terms, and evaluating credit exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently managing credit risk requests from UK and US offices, overseeing risk assessments, limits, and mitigations for new and existing counterparties.
  • Reviewing and approving limit and counterparty proposals or escalating per internal risk guidelines.
  • Providing guidance to junior Credit Analysts based in the UK.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Front Office to align commercial and credit risk interests.
  • Assisting in modeling credit exposure for transactions and negotiating credit terms in various agreements.
  • Monitoring market events that may impact credit standing and recommending risk mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing and presenting key credit risk indicators to Executive Management and shareholders.
  • Contributing to the development of credit risk frameworks and policies.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in credit analysis/management within commodity trading or financial sector.
  • Experience in overseeing junior team members and leading projects.
  • Previous exposure to energy products, specifically Coal, Drybulk Freight, LNG, and more, will be advantageous.
  • Proficient in negotiating contractual and credit agreements.
  • Degree qualified with strong financial analysis skills.
  • Skilled in negotiation and contract comprehension.
  • Knowledge of KYC and AML processes is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in English, with fluency in another language being a plus.
  • Familiarity with CubeLogic system is beneficial.
  • Ability to work with Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, and macros.
  • Experience with S&P IQ Capital and proficiency in using Python and Power BI for data analysis.
