Overview

A healthcare system the client use requires an upgrade to both hardware and software.

The role holder will be the technical lead responsible for assuring the delivery of the technology refresh for this critical medical system. Acting as part of a client-side team, the role holder will work with the system supplier to ensure that the technical project artefacts meet the professional standards expected by the Client, and to assist the Delivery Manager to ensure the technical dependencies are delivered on time.

Job Description

The Technical Assurance Architect will be part of a small team to provide technical assurance for their supplier to deliver a full system upgrade to a key technology service. The team will support and assure the work being completed by the supplier.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

Responsible for technical assurance of the Fixed Technical Refresh (FTR) which is delivering a number of hardware and software upgrades to an old wintel based on premises hosted system

Act as Technical Authority for live service issues, including review and approval of technical changes.

Lead and support technical problem solving, facilitating, and providing input into workshops to ensure that solutions are reached within appropriate timescales.

Support the Project Manager and ensure all technical deliverables are represented in the project plan.

Support the Project Manager to ensure that FTR dependencies are tracked and managed effectively.

Review technical design and other documents produced by the supplier through the approvals process to ensure they are accurate, meet good industry standard quality and provide the best solution.

Support the team with the approval of Change Proposals from the supplier.

In addition, the individual will be expected to:

Be commercially aware

Be able to handle challenging situations with people at all levels, bringing technical advice to help bring those situations to a successful and positive conclusion.

Work with Service Management colleagues to ensure that any impact on live service is correctly managed in accordance with Service Levels, and customer expectations are met.

Engage with stakeholders at all levels

Engage with a challenging approvals process to ensure the project can be accepted by the end client

Skills and Experience:

Proven experience of full solution lifecycle, including physical server / network infrastructure, virtualisation technologies, database and application software, service management and delivering to agreed service levels.

Experience of upgrading critical systems, performing a hardware and software technology upgrade of Microsoft-based platforms ( Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Remote Desktop Services, etc. ).

Experience of datacentre migrations, including virtualisation (P2V and V2V).

The ability to lead technical workshops to achieve outcomes that meet customer requirements in a timely manner.

Ability to write and review commercial, service, and technical design documentation.

Experience in dealing with external delivery partners.

A service delivery background that enables engagement with stakeholder service delivery teams.

Previous experience in Defence sector

Previous experience in healthcare
