Job Purpose:

To ensure that all staff within the department provide high-quality teaching and learning that supports students to make as much progress as possible

To lead and develop a team and participate in activities that support the improvement priorities of the school

Departmental Information:
  • The Creative Arts team is comprised of 8 specialist teachers delivering Art, Drama and Music
  • The school has a fully inclusive approach to students studying Music, which is reflected in the uptake of students on the Eduqas GCSE Music course and their examination results.
  • Extra-curricular Music is very important in the life of the school. There is a range of productions every year, including a whole school musical/play, a Christmas show and a live lounge.
  • There are two dedicated Music rooms, along with a newly built suite of six practice rooms. There is also access to music technology in a computer room.
  • The person we are looking for will be proactive, organised and committed; they will work in a thriving department. We are looking for someone creative, hardworking and determined with a sense of fun and a positive outlook. You will be expected to be up to date with current thinking about Music in education and show an ability to add innovative ideas and new resource material to the department.
