We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engagewith our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that bestmeets their needs. With this role you'll be working as part of the West Lothian Recovery Service.

The team supports people develop their Recovery after reaching a level of stability.

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible,curious and a good listener are key.

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recoveryjourney
  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drugand alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user andcommunity involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Working with serviceusers to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promotingrecovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
  • Research, design and prepare subject matterand materials for groups / pods.
  • Deliver structured content within group settings to service users atvarious stages of recovery
  • Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/podshave taken place, reviewing progress and identifying concerns with service users
  • Tailor specificworkshops around the needs of the service users, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships,etc

About you:

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similarfield
  • Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict orchallenging behaviour.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good ITskills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritisingskills
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and goodpractice
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work inpartnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability tomanage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Understand theimportance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessarysafeguards
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skillsand to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

  • Home based in Scotland with travel (Remote)

Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) is Scotland's national resource of expertise on drugs and related issues. We seek to leadand represent the drugs field in Scotland in order to improve Scotland's response to problem drug use. About the Project:

SDF has been funded by the Scottish Government to deliver a project ensuring the opinions and experience of peopleliving with drug problems, 'the voice of living experience' in Scotland informs and influences policy and thedevelopment of services across Scotland.

The focus of the Development Officer's work is to recruit, train, support and sustain local and regional networks ofpeople with current living experience of problem drug use / being in treatment. Regional representatives willform a national group which will inform the drug treatment and care sector, the government and the wider publicabout the experience of drug use, accessing and being in treatment and other support services.

About the Post Holder:

We encourage applications from people with their own direct lived experience of problem drug use who can use theirexperience and their own peer networks in developing these roles. As the role requires the post holder to engagewith a diverse range of people with living experience, it is essential that applicants are knowledgeable ofproblem use of various substances and are knowledgeable and supportive of recovery including having a soundunderstanding of harm reduction, all available treatment and all forms of mutual aid.

Developing and implementing support plans for individuals in the Recovery Housing Service.

Providing outreach support to individuals across Aberdeen city centre to help them secure their own tenancy.

Collaborating with the Housing Team Manager and colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

Engaging with community resources and agencies to provide comprehensive support to individuals in recovery.

Advocating for the needs of individuals in recovery and ensuring they have access to necessary services andresources.

About You

  • Experience of facilitating or co-facilitating group programmes
  • Experience of delivering 1 to 1support
  • An understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals experiencing homelessness,housing support needs or drug and alcohol recovery.
  • Experience of working with individuals in thesubstance use sector or related field.
  • The ability to be innovative and be flexible in order to meet theneeds of the service.
  • Be able to work effectively with multi-agencies, whilst maintaining the excellentreputation of the service.
  • Knowledge of adult and child protection essential as you will be working withvulnerable people in a community setting

We are opening an exciting new Recovery Housing service which will have multiple houses/flats based across Aberdeencity centre and are currently in the final stages of procuring these. Your office base will be in the citycentre, however there will be a need to travel to the houses across the city.   • Engaging families, partners, and the wider community to increase visibilityand understanding of recovery.
  • Working with the Scotland Management team to identify opportunities andsupport the growth of specialist housing provision in Scotland.
  • In addition to managing the RecoveryHousing Worker, you will manage a small caseload yourself

About You

  • Experience of the substance use sector, housing or related field (2 years +)
  • Some experience of linemanaging others (staff, sessional staff or volunteers)
  • Confidence in building relationships with otherprofessionals and to maintain the excellent reputation of Phoenix Futures.
  • The ability to be innovativeand flexible in order to meet the needs of the service and work in a fast paced service.
