Clinical Biomarker Services

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Owlstone Medical Full time

We have summer internship opportunities available from July 2024 through to September 2024, with a potential part-time extension should the successful intern be interested, working as part of our Clinical Biomarker Services Team, across several departments.

Successful applicants will work closely with a line manager to plan and coordinate their daily activities, whilst immersing themselves in the culture and technical projects at Owlstone.

The internship will allow you to expand your awareness of disease biology and approaches to exploit this information for early disease detection.

The successful intern will carry out literature searches and increase knowledge around key technical and biological areas of interest for Owlstone Medical, work that will contribute to our key programmes in Breath Biopsy Tests and Research Products and Services.

Your efforts also will provide content through these activities to our R&D and Sales and Marketing Departments.

The key responsibilities of the intern include the following:

  • Perform focused literature research, extract salient information, and write cogent summaries (with references) of key manuscripts, patents, technologies, and disease areas of interest.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and manuscripts for internal and external projects. This will include shadowing data interpretation, assisting in the analysis of experimental findings, and contributing to the writing process.
  • Provide biological backing for internal analytical chemistry activities, facilitating productive discussions within the business's areas of interest and assisting in the exploration of new compounds and platform development.
This internship will give you fantastic exposure to Clinical Biomarker Services and internal R&D Project Teams.

Working Arrangement:
At Owlstone Medical we have a diverse, friendly and supportive team.

We find that Interns get the most out of their time with us whilst being present in the Cambridge Headquarters.

Therefore, please ensure that you will be available to be on-site in the office for four days per week, Monday to Friday throughout your internship, with the option to work one day per week from home.

Closing Date for Applications:
Tuesday 30th April 2024
