HR Advisor - £35k

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with assigned business areas in relation to all aspects of HR, developing collaborative and productive relationships and providing support, advice and coaching, including resourcing, organisational and job design, employee relations matters (probation,absence, conduct and capability, performance, grievances), organisational change and restructuring.
  • Lead on employee relations cases for relevant business areas including coaching managers and ensuring timely progression of cases in line with policies, employment legislation and best practice guidance. In cases of higher risk issues, escalating mattersto the HR Business Partner as appropriate.
  • Advise on and implement all HR policies and procedures, keeping uptodate with changes in employment law and industry best practice.
  • Work with the HR Business Partners and Head of HR to ensure all HR policies, procedures and processes are inline with our strategy, meet legislative requirements and are proportionate and effective.
  • Draft new policies and management guidance documents as required. Working with the Resourcing Advisor to effectively advise on the recruitment process within assigned business areas, ensuring the best service, and value for money is achieved, focusing onour key strategic objective to increase the diversity of its workforce.
  • Lead on specific HR projects, initiatives and processes, in line with the HR team's work plan and roll out initiatives with assigned business areas.
  • Working with the HR Systems and Payroll Manager to gather and analyse qualitative, and quantitative HR data to identify trends, and supporting managers to take appropriate action where required.
  • Recruitment, development, engagement and performance management of any direct reports (or supporting wider team members as required), and ensuring sufficient training, support and resource.
  • Provide support to the HR Coordinators to ensure HR data integrity and provide support in the monthly payroll process.
  • Work with the Learning & Organisational Development team to design and deliver briefings and workshops to further develop the capability and knowledge of staff and managers.

What experience you'll need to do the job:

  • Experience of working in a HR advisory role within a busy, complex organisation.
  • Thorough working knowledge of employment legislation and current good practice in HR, including strong experience of handling a range of employee relations casework.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation, including communicating, presenting, negotiating, influencing and building credibility with colleagues andexternal parties.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, with experience of working to tight deadlines whilst achieving strong attention to detail to produce consistently high quality, detailed and accurate work.
  • A positive and proactive approach with creative problemsolving skills and ability to provide flexible solutions to multiple complex HR and employment issues in a changing environment.
  • Experience of working with HR systems and ability to produce, analyse and interpret management information using good analytical and numerical skills. Good project management skills, and experience of managing HR projects.
  • CIPD Level 7 or level 5 part qualified (or equivalent through experience).
