Position Summary

The Learning & Development Manager will lead and participate in EMEA and global initiatives, projects and project sub-streams, that contribute to the success of Talent Development across STERIS. The role will act as a subject matter expert and leverage both practical prior experience and Learning & Development (L&D) knowledge to assess, design, develop, source, communicate, promote, implement, program manage, facilitate, measure, evaluate and evolve L&D solutions. This role will also collaborate with HR's Talent Development department members, which focuses more broadly on career planning, coaching, mentoring, talent management and driving a strong learning culture.

This role will report to the Director, Global Learning & Development. The Talent Development team is focused on being exceptional business partners who deeply know the business and develop impactful, yet practical talent solutions, interventions, and programs. This role is expected to be performed on-site at STERIS's Basingstoke UK locations. Periodic travel to other STERIS locations in EMEA to build consultative relationships, understand needs and nuances across business unit/geographies, and deploy learning is expected.

Duties


• Builds strong relationships and consult with business leaders and HR partners across EMEA to identify talent needs related to individual, team, and organizational performance.

• Sources, designs and/or develops L&D solutions, leveraging existing vendor partnerships as well as seeking new vendors as appropriate.

• Leverage both synchronous and asynchronous elements to create self-guided, flipped and blended solutions that drive behavior change, desired outcomes and performance improvement

• Deploys, and may facilitate, L&D solutions to target audience of Leaders and Employees across STERIS, with a special focus on EMEA

• Serves as program manager/process lead for various global employee and leadership development programs or processes across the organization, as part of the global L&D team.

• Drafts impactful communications and manages change management elements associated with marketing, launching and consumption of L&D solutions

• Evaluates and leverages learning technologies, such as eLearning authoring, creative tools, learning platforms

• Incorporates, into L&D, approaches and ideas that build and enhance the diverse, equitable and inclusive spirit of the global STERIS organization

• Collaborates with HR colleagues and business leaders to:
o ensure that new and existing L&D solutions are appropriately meeting the needs of the businesses, functions and enterprise
o ensure that communication and deployment are jointly managed to engage leaders and employees throughout the enterprise
o calibrate and coordinate L&D solutions as part of the larger suite of HR and Talent Development initiatives

Required Experience

1. Experience as a Learning & Development team member (5 years)

2. Experience working in a large global corporate environment (3+ years)

3. Experience participating in large initiatives/projects (3+ years)

Position competencies/criteria:

1. Has expertise in adult learning theory and practices

2. Adept at consulting, influencing and building mutually-beneficial business relationships

3. Experience working across multiple countries within EMEA

4. Able to work well independently as a subject matter expert and collaboratively with HR and the business

5. Able to manage multiple priorities, in an organized, efficient and effective manner

6. Capable of advanced level data/trend analysis

7. Leads by example

8. Possesses strong communication skills

9. Possess strong organizational skills

10. Experienced with a range of learning technologies

11. Stays on the cutting edge of learning best practices and emerging trends, including technologies, data, science and behaviors

12. Fluency in European languages other than English strongly preferred
