Locum Litigation Lawyer - Remote Working - Up to £60 per hour Umbrella - South West
Venn Group's specialist Legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Litigation Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the South West.
This is a full time position for an initial period of 3 months subject to likely extension thereafter. Hybrid working is required for court and committee attendance.
The ideal candidate would be a Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with substantial Local Authority experience in relation to prosecutions, regulatory matters and licensing appeal hearings in the Magistrate's Court.
Duties may include:
- Managing a caseload of matters with minimal supervision and reviewing work to ensure work is completed to a high standard
- Undertaking advocacy and negotiations on behalf of the Council
- Provide advice in relation to Regulatory, Anti-Social Behaviour and Licensing matters
- Advising on complex and sensitive legal issues in a constructive and positive way
- Dealing with Trading Standards Matters
- Providing training and guidance to the client departments and the rest of the legal team in completing their tasks and supporting junior staff members in their development
An attractive hourly rate of up to £60 Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
