The RolenOur engineering team is seeking someone with a passion for designing, prototyping and testing custom components and specialised products.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet all performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
A successful candidate will draw upon previous experience using advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to create niche 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
nThis is a rare opportunity to see your work deployed in revolutionary systemsnResponsibilitiesnWorking cross functionally across company to create design specificationsnCreating initial designs and prototypes for bespoke componentsnCollaborating with third parties to evaluate and select solutionsnCreate and maintain process documentation, project plans and reportsnProducing drawings and full assembly packs including bill of materialsnConducting Ansys thermal analysis to optimise part designnCollaborating cross functionally across teams to improve processesnConducting first article assembly builds and testingnUsing Solidworks for 3D designCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSnExperience using Ansys for thermal simulationsnExperience using SolidworksnExperience with Bill of materialsnDegree in Mechanical Design Engineering or other related fieldnIndustry experience in a similar rolenExcellent understanding of mechanical engineering, material properties and machining processesnFamiliarity with component design in tight tolerances (for example satellites, cryogenic systems or magnet design)nGood interpersonal skills with ability to work with customers and suppliersnAbility to take initiative and work in a self-driven manner
