At our nurseries in Norwich and Ely, we've become one of the first growers to use waste heat from water treatment plants and reservoirs, reducing our carbon footprint by up to 60%.
We now account for nearly 20% of the tomatoes and 25% of the cucumbers grown in the UK
We have an exciting opportunity available to support our commercial team This role will be based predominantly at our Ely site with occasional travel to Norwich.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial and supply chain support across the customer base, deputising as required.
Responsibilities include:

Customer Orders: Managing all aspects of our customer orders, ensuring clear and timely communication both internally and externally, maximising sales where possible. Developing strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders externally and internally.

Customer Forecasts: Analysing and formatting all customer forecasts and providing the packhouse team with individual rolling forecasts for each customer. Updating and maintaining the program vs actual database.

Production Planning: Responsible for compiling and analysing key information across the nursery, packhouse and customer forecasts to ensure the weekly production / sales plan has a high level of accuracy

Product Coordination: Overall responsibility for product management, the packing strategy and stock management for the given crop. Ensuring clear communication between growing, packing, and commercial teams. To act as a central point of contact between different teams, facilitating effective communication and ensuring everyone is aligned on crop growth progress and harvest schedules.

Supply Chain Support: Providing day to day support to the Supply Chain Manager, updating and maintaining the packaging stocks database. Liaising with relevant parties responsible for packaging stockkeeping across all sites.

Daily & Weekly Order Planning: Working closely with the Packhouse Managers at both GHE/GHN, ensuring the daily volumes reflect the weekly customer plan. To fully utilise internal systems to track gross and class I yields, taking responsibility for the weekly profiling whilst proactively managing potential shortfalls or excess stock issues. This will also include training key Packhouse staff.

KPI Tracking: To support the Commercial Manager to devise and manage an efficient and reliable KPI system, communicating this to key stakeholders as appropriate.

Systems:To become an expert on all customer and internal systems, identifying and managing new opportunities and how they integrate across the business.

Pricing:To liaise with the finance team on pricing when required.
