Parking Operations / Management Team Leader

Grade 4 Level 2 – 5

£49,.06 to £53,.06

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed individual to lead our Parking Operations team.

You will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver our Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE) duties and wider parking management function. You should have extensive knowledge and experience of legislative and technical aspects in this area of work.

You will manage both an operational enforcement team across a large geographical area and a specialised team providing back office DPE support, promotion of Traffic Regulation Orders, and deals with parking related enquiries and generate works programmes.

You should be able to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions, whilst leading and directing your team to do the same.

A commitment to customer focus, service delivery and responsiveness will be vital as will the ability to commit to our constant efforts to refine and improve service delivery.

Candidates should preferably have a HNC in a relevant subject which supports the qualities needed for this role. Candidates without this would require to demonstrate significant knowledge and experience working within the parking sector.

You must have the ability to travel throughout the Council area.

The successful candidate will be based at the Council's Almada Street complex in Hamilton although the Council operate a flexible approach with the ability to work a hybrid model where appropriate.

Responsibilities

Assist the Engineering Manager in managing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE) duties and wider parking management function.

Liaise with Engineering Manager on all matters including the operation of the Car Park Wardens, Parking Attendance, the promotion of permanent Traffic Regulation Orders, management of penalty charge notices/appeals, pavement parking, parking strategy development, works programmes, Councillor, and stakeholder enquiries.

Assist the Engineering Manager in financial monitoring and control of the revenue and capital budgets.

Assist and manage all Health and Safety requirement including duties under the CDM regulations.

Help secure performance of all staff through instruction, development and setting/assessing performance standards.

Lead in the development of various policy and strategies relating to parking and street management.
