At Ruby Violet we create bespoke ice creams, vegan sorbets and frozen delights using only organic milk and the most simple or unusual fresh ingredients in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire.

All our ice cream is made from scratch including inclusions from jams to brownies and brittles.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and experienced chef to join our team on a full time basis and assist with our national growth.

We are interested in people of all ages with ice cream or pastry experience.


We currently have 1 parlour in London as well as a seasonal ice cream van, we work with restaurants, delis & retail outlets in London & Bedford and send our cakes, sundaes and tubs to customers across the UK via our online store.


We work closely with corporate clients and event companies to create bespoke products, some clients we have recently worked with are Thomas Heatherwick, Gordon Ramsay, Ardbeg Whisky, Coco & Eve and Eurostar.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all cakes, delights and ice creams are prepared according to Ruby Violet spec.
  • Assist in developing new innovative recipes for cakes, ice creams and other delights to sell in our parlour, to wholesale customers and nationwide.
  • Assist in training new team members to make and prepare recipes.
  • General kitchen organisation and maintenance inc. stock control and waste management.
  • Assisting our head chef in creating and following structured production schedules.
  • Assist in evaluating kitchen practices and improving productivity.

.Excellent communication skills are essential as you may be required to work with other departments (packaging, office etc.).

.Creativity and the ability to innovate is essential.

.Ability to think outside the box.

.High attention to detail especially in terms of cleanliness is absolutely essential.

.High knowledge of allergens, ingredients and food hygiene practices is essential.

.Being able to work well in a team as well as independently.

.Self motivated and enthusiastic about doing the best job possible.

.Flexible in terms of working hours, you may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods of the year.

.As we work with heavy ingredients some heavy lifting may be required.

.Level 2 food & hygiene certificate is required.

£30,000.00 per year
