  • The Centre for Academic Development in the Directorate of Academic and Student Administration is recruiting a Lecturer in Academic Language and Literacies to teach across a range of credit and noncredit modules as well as workshops, 1:1s, and embedded disciplinespecific classes.
  • This is permanent, part time (0.8 FTE) post.

Overall purpose of post:

To develop and deliver targeted and efficient English for Academic Purposes and Academic Literacies development in an HE setting to help students reach their full academic potential

You should have:

  • A higher degree in EAP/TESOL or Applied Linguistics or equivalent
  • A Level 7 teaching qualification (DELTA, DipTESOL, PGCE)
  • Experience of teaching in HE in the area of English for Academic Purposes and Academic Literacies
  • Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating a range of teaching interventions
  • A willingness to work flexibly and responsively to changing student demographics
  • A commitment to widening participation and inclusive teaching practice.

You will be:

  • Designing and delivering embedded discipline specific academic language and literacies classes and courses
  • Liaising with departmental and faculty colleagues to develop collaborative initiatives to meet students needs
  • Working with students individually and in groups to help them reach their full academic potential
  • Participating in and contributing to quality assurance processes.
