WHAT TO EXPECT

This position offers the chance to oversee our Engineering Fleet Control Teams, managing the disposal, re-use, and revenue reclamation of our engineering prototype assets. You will lead a team of fitters and engage with external suppliers to optimize revenue generation post-development. This role, based in Product Engineering, plays a vital role in maximizing income from used vehicles and surplus stock.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of fitters in the Disposal Compound, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Manage the scrapping of vehicles in the UK, guaranteeing adherence to internal and external regulations.
  • Act as the primary contact for external suppliers regarding vehicles and parts under engineering fleet control, overseeing revenue streams alignment with processed parts and vehicles.
  • Lead the recycling and reclamation of high-value vehicle parts to support internal re-use and revenue generation.
  • Control storage and access to safety data for vehicles and parts, managing logistics for crash testing support.
  • Manage safe storage and preparation for scrap vehicles, including EV battery removal and high-value part de-preparation.
  • Provide cover for absences within the team, supporting various activities ranging from vehicle handling to management meetings.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential

  • Comprehensive knowledge of whole vehicles and key systems.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly in MS Excel, MS Office tools, and Fleet Management Systems.
  • Expertise in vehicle disposals processes and hazardous waste regulations.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical data and make informed business decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external stakeholder collaboration.
  • Experience operating FLT & Telehandler equipment with relevant certifications.
  • NVQ 3 qualification as a Vehicle Technician.
