Test Engineering Lead

A bit about the job:

Aviva Zero is a greenfield Personal Lines insurer headquartered in London, set with the ambition to be the best in the UK market. It will combine the pace, focus, and test and learn mentality of a start-up with the expertise, and financial backing of Aviva.

As a Test Engineering Lead, you will work with stakeholders, SME's and the rest of the Software Engineer teams, to deliver excellent and timely customer outcomes through continuous development and delivery. You will implement improvements to our test standards and practices to increase the quality and efficiency of delivery. You will take a lead on the definition and implementation of our test strategy, to help ensure continuous deployments achieve the desired customer outcomes.

Essential skills and experience we're looking for :

Experience in defining and implementing test strategies in the context of event driven and microservices architectures. Ability to lead engineering teams in embedding a quality first approach to development using test-driven development techniques. Well-versed in modern development practices including Agile and continuous deployments, DevOps and either AWS, Azure or Google cloud. Work in a collaborative environment, working through challenges with colleagues whilst having fun along the way. Experience of stakeholder management including at a senior level and experience of people leadership with a passion for developing others through mentoring and coaching.

AWS: Lambda, ECS, Dynamo DB, S3, Event Bridge, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, VPC, Security Hub, Control Tower and Cloud Trail Extra: CDK as infrastructure as Code, Snowflake, LaunchDarkly, Pagerduty Programming languages: we use Go heavily along with Python and Typescript
