Education and Employment Worker

As our Education and Employment Worker, you'll work within our EYJS but also have close links with our Virtual School.
You'll work closely with children who are not in education, training or employment, and support them in engaging in their future.
For this role, you'll need to have experience of working with children and their families, specifically with those who are at risk, and developing and implementing appropriate innovative and creative initiatives with them.
Main Accountabilities:
- Working closely with children who are not in education, training or employment or, those at risk of being excluded and supporting them to engage in their future
- Negotiate with Schools, Alternative Education Service, Colleges and any other relevant organisations in order to ensure that education /employment opportunities are made available to young people of school age and those wishing to continue or return to education
- Inform a child's plan and contribute to targeted sessions to promote change
- Establish excellent working relationships between local schools and the Exploitation and Youth Justice Service (EYJS) collaborating on clear protocols with regard to information exchange and service delivery
- To liaise with other relevant agencies in order to affect good quality careers, training, employment advice and support to the young people with whom the team is involved
- To develop, implement, monitor and evaluate a range of group and individual programmes and provisions that directly address offending behaviour
- Prepare reports and assessments to aid the Court and intervention processes
- Represent the service at appropriate meetings and working groups in order to develop constructive relationships with partner agencies, community groups, elected members, courts, young people and others
- Contribute to the development of a team culture and practice that is antidiscriminatory and delivers appropriate services to the diverse communities of Slough
- Keep records in line with team practice and SCF standards
- Contribute to holiday programmes and group workshops offered to children open to EYJS
- Undertake flexible working as appropriate and any other duties required by your line manager commensurate with the post
- This post holder will be supervised by education professionals with resources to support young people on their EET journey
Person Specification:
Education, Training and Experience
Relevant professional qualification i.e. Diploma level, NVQ Level 4 and a record of continuous professional development or demonstrable relevant experience in the field of education
