Position Overview:


The Environmental SME will be an integral member of the core team within the Sustainability Steering Committee, responsible for overseeing the implementation and delivery of the environmental objectives and goals as part of the wider sustainability strategyfor the business.

This role can be Part-Time or Full time and is initially a 6 month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Refine and implement the wider environmental goals and objectives across both business operations and project delivery teams, working closely with Steering Committee members
  • Identify and set SMART KPIs to ensure continuous improvement
  • Working closely with Procurement on a Supplier Engagement Programme
  • Help build and deliver a comprehensive internal training programme alongside our internal L&D team to upskill and topup business knowledge
  • Continually research and read to keep our Sustainability strategy and approach current and communicate new trends to the business
  • Advise on latest innovative low or zero carbon technologies
  • Analyse data collated from our Sustainability tool(s) to prepare reports and identify improvements
  • Complete all necessary legislative reporting, internal and external for signoff by the Board of Directors
  • Own the roadmap to SBTi and netzero
  • Contribute to achieving ISO20121 certification within next FY
  • Work towards B Corp certification
  • Working closely with our Marketing team to build external communications calendar, produce relevant and current blogs/articles, keep abreast of upcoming events and identify value and level of presence
  • Attend and participate at key Sustainability events
  • Maintaining open communication with consultants, members, clients, internal teams and departments
  • Support commercial team on pitches and tenders, setting achievable but winning commitments and targets in response to the brief

  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be the voice of the business externally at events and delivering webinars internally
  • Advanced level of software literacy (particularly MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint)
  • Selfprioritise workload according to the business needs and excellent time management skills
  • Selfmotivated with a passion to succeed
  • Hands on, can do attitude
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Confidence to work alone whilst remaining a keen communicator and team player

Desirable:

Knowledge and experience of the live events industry
