This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Senior Battery Systems Engineer to join an innovative company in the automotive industry. You will play a pivotal role in leading battery design and development projects, particularly focusing on electric vehicle battery systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand vehicle powertrain system requirements and develop suitable battery solutions (cell selection, enclosure, cooling, busbar, etc)
  • Work on concept to prototype stages and beyond for EV powertrain systems

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in designing battery systems for EV powertrains within automotive, marine, off-highway, aerospace, etc.
  • Relevant qualification in a related field (e.g., degree in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, etc)
  • Expertise in battery cell selection, pack design, and production methods
  • Good understanding of electrical engineering with HV setup, busbar, and electrical distribution knowledge
  • Ability to develop battery solutions to meet vehicle energy needs
  • Experience in thermal management and cooling solutions for battery packs
  • Skills in systems simulations and modelling interpretation
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Experience in fast-paced product development environments
  • Appreciation of vehicle integration, insulation, rugged designs, etc

Additional Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in designing and packaging battery packs for automotive EV applications
  • Experience in battery system design for various mobility platforms (marine, aerospace, etc)
  • Design/development expertise in busbars for battery systems
  • Knowledge of thermal analysis/CAE software like Ansys Fluent, Star CCM

Our client is seeking a Senior Battery Systems Engineer to handle EV projects from inception to prototype stage. Automotive experience is preferred but other vehicle systems backgrounds are also considered.

This role, with onsite work (hybrid setup available), is conveniently located for candidates in Birmingham, Redditch, Solihull, Nuneaton, Hinckley, Leamington Spa, Banbury, Daventry, Rugby, Coventry, and Lutterworth.
