High Profile Procurement Roles

These roles involve leading and coordinating the procurement of services across Corporate or Place to ensure the Council meets its duties and acquires services to meet identified needs.

  • Procurement lead for the delivery of goods, works, or services for the Council in specified categories.
  • Meeting statutory responsibilities and ensuring achievable outcomes within allocated resources.
  • Working as a Business Partner to advise and support directorates/teams with procurement and contract management.
  • Actively seeking solutions for commissioning, procurement, and contract management activities to ensure sustainable value and quality improvements.

If selected, you will work as part of a skilled Procurement team to procure services, goods, and works that meet local residents' needs, improve outcomes, provide value for money, and support the Council Plan and Sustainable Procurement Strategy.

These positions offer the chance to collaborate with individuals from various agencies and stakeholder groups both internally and externally.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek innovative and creative individuals with expertise in procurement who are passionate about making a difference. Successful candidates should have:

  • Degree/relevant professional qualification (CIPS level 4 or above) and/or relevant field experience.
  • Solid knowledge of Public Procurement Regulations.
  • Experience in stakeholder/customer engagement.
  • Proven track record in forming effective alliances, partnerships, and services in a cross-agency environment.
  • Understanding and experience in applying risk management principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Social Value and Carbon Zero in Procurement.
  • Strong problem-solving and innovative thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in ICT.
