Solicitor / Associate - Litigation (Insurance)

Location - Glasgow (or potentially Edinburgh), with a mixture of working from the office as required and some home working.


DWF's Professional Indemnity team is expanding and seeking to recruit a Solicitor / Associate to join their dynamic team in Scotland.

The team act for a range of large insurers, dealing with a variety of claims against professionals including solicitors,surveyors, accountants and financial advisers and brokers.

The team also deal with a significant number of claims against construction and engineering professionals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing files with a view to identifying salient documents and evidence.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports for Insurers giving succinct advice on all areas of liability, causation and quantum.
  • Instructing experts and Counsel.
  • Assisting with Court of Session and Sheriff Court procedure to include drafting pleadings and motions, and attending hearings.
  • Attending client meetings and consultations with clients, experts and Counsel.


We are keen to hear from individuals at both Solicitor and Associate level who share our values of teamwork and client focus.

You do not necessarily need to have prior professional indemnity experience providing you have an interest in this area of law.

You will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing our clients with the best quality legal advice.

You will have excellent communication skills and drive to meet financial targets.
