Procurement Category Manager (Estates and facilities)

Public sector organisation

East London (hybrid, 1 day per week in office approximately)

Up to 65,000 + benefits


I am working with an exciting public sector organisation who are looking for a procurement category manager (Estates and Facilities) to join their fun, vibrant, supportive and collaborative team.


Their office is based in East London, and they work on a hybrid basis where most people go into the office once per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans for designated categories. This will include market research, sourcing suppliers, tendering, supplier selection, contact award and contract management
  • Be the procurement specialist and knowledgeable of Public Contract Regulations
  • Ensure the legal compliance of tendering and contract award activities and to manage risk across relevant aspects of institutional procurement operations
  • Manage suppliers performance against contracts or other arrangements and to manage key relationships with their main customers.
  • Produce and analyse data to support category plan developments
  • Review and draft terms and conditions of contract and provide advice to others on appropriate forms of contract
Key skills

  • Must be educated to degree level/ MCIPS or directly comparable equivalent
  • Experienced in managing complex procurements in a public sector environment within the Estates and Facilities category
  • Demonstratable experience of leading and delivering projects and programmes that delivered value for money
  • Expert on end to end procurement processes
  • Ability to work on own initiative, managing own time and making decisions with mínimal supervision
