Job Opportunity as a Senior Estimator at OCU Group in Borehamwood

Are you ready to play a crucial role in securing profitable contracts and delivering projects within budget? OCU Group is currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team in Borehamwood. Your main responsibility will be to provide accurate and comprehensive cost estimates during the pre-construction phase of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare Estimates using Causeway Estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bid Analysis: Evaluate project requirements and identify risks and opportunities
  • Quantity Take offs: Determine required quantities of materials, labor, and equipment
  • Subcontractor Management: Collaborate with subcontractors for cost-effective and timely delivery
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze alternative materials, methods, and design changes
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and propose mitigation strategies for project risks
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimating activities
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure project alignment
  • Tender Ownership: Responsible for bids from start to finish
  • Site Visits: Attend site visits to gather information for competitive offers
Skills and Experience

Education: Preferably a degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or related field

Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in construction estimating, especially in Power projects

Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimating software and advanced Microsoft Excel

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
