My client is looking for a Laser Operator for their workshop based in Sheffield, this is a Temp to Perm position for an immediate start.

The Company

  • A friendly company with a history of taking candidates on Permanently
  • Manufacture and supply Stainless and Carbon steel for the construction sector.
  • Supply to both public and private sector clients.
Duties

  • Operate laser cutting machines to cut and shape various materials according to specifications
  • Set up and adjust laser cutting parameters for different materials and thicknesses
  • Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times
Requirements

  • Previous experience operating laser cutting machines is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in measurements
  • Basic math skills for calculations and measurements
  • Familiarity with hand tools used in metal fabrication
  • Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs
  • Experience working with sheet metal is preferred
  • Familiarity with tooling used in laser cutting operations
