Operating from a modern 39,000 square foot facility in Oxfordshire, they have engineering labs, specialized testing facilities, and manufacturing capacity for up to 20,000 units annually.


The Opportunity:
I'm looking for a Head of Test & Verification to join this dynamic team. As the head, you'll oversee the department to ensure that electric propulsion systems meet top-notch standards of performance, safety, and reliability. This role offers a fantastic chance to shape the future of aerospace tech and contribute to industry decarbonization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive test strategy for development and production phases.
  • Create detailed test plans, inclusive of schedules, resources, and methodologies.
  • Lead and educate a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.
  • Supervise test execution covering setup, data collection, and analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to aerospace regulations, industry norms, and safety protocols.
  • Manage testing equipment maintenance, calibration, and facilities.
  • Analyze test data and produce thorough performance and reliability reports.
  • Identify and implement enhancements in testing methods and equipment.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks linked to testing activities.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams for alignment and effective communication.
  • Handle the test activities budget and resources allocation efficiently.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies to ensure aerospace compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with testing equipment suppliers and service providers.
  • Maintain precise records of test activities and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Skills and Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a Test and/or Development Team.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerospace engineering, propulsion systems, and testing methodologies.
  • Extensive aerospace industry experience with familiarity in DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254.
  • Strong leadership qualities to develop and motivate teams.
  • Project management experience, especially in aerospace projects.
  • Dedication to safety and quality assurance.
  • Proficient in data analysis and deriving meaningful insights.
  • Problem-solving skills for complex technical issues and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in risk assessment and management.
  • Capability to manage budgets and prioritize projects.
  • Innovative mindset focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Experience in managing supplier and vendor relations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Adaptable to dynamic work environments with a UK driving license for travel.
