Job Title: Locum Consultant Physician in Diabetes & Metabolism

We are searching for a dedicated Locum Consultant Physician specializing in Diabetes & Metabolism to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The role involves providing clinical sessions focusing on Obesity and Type 1 diabetes. As part of the commitment, the successful candidate will work a 10 PA job plan with seven-day working incorporated into the timetable.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Continuing responsibility for patient care and associated administrative duties.
  • Leadership, development, and organization of services in line with business plans.
  • Participation in research programs and professional management of doctors in training.
  • Full involvement in department management and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Adaptation to emergencies and unforeseen circumstances as needed.

Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • MB BS, or equivalent
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • CCT (or within 6 months of date of interview) or equivalent

Desirable

  • Higher degree, MD/PhD

Clinical Experience

  • Competent and trained in Endocrinology, Diabetes Mellitus, and General Internal Medicine

Clinical Knowledge

Essential

  • Wide-ranging knowledge of Endocrinology, Diabetes Mellitus, and General Internal Medicine

Audit Management & IT

Essential

  • Evidence of clinical audit understanding
  • Support and collaboration in business planning
  • Basic proficiency in NHS IT systems

Desirable

  • Innovative healthcare approaches
  • Audit/management experience

Research, Teaching Skill & Experience

Essential

  • Experience in clinical research and presentations
  • Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems

Desirable

  • Demonstrated publications related to the post
