We are currently recruiting for a Batcher to join our fantastic Readymix 'RMX' team at our Hopkins Wincanton site; based in Somerset.

The site is easily accessible via most major road networks.

The plant is easily commutable from Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Taunton, Street, Langport, Somerton, Yeovil, Chard, Wellington, Glastonbury, Weston-Super-Mare, Wells, Minehead, Tiverton, Ilminster, Shepton Mallet, Clevedon, Bristol and surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility:

The Batcher will work as part of a team responsible for RMX operations on our plant.

Safety and operational standards are the fundamental aspects of the role with cost control, delivery to customer needs and performance improvement being key.

Ensuring plant compliance with business policies and procedures and ensuring that legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Batcher, not exhaustive:

• Working collaboratively with the operational and transport teams
• Achieving daily production targets including operational costs and stocks
• Efficient manufacture of concrete, controlling standard deviation and cement contents
• Drive operational performance through KPI's
• Take responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
• Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard
• Batch concrete to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements
• Operation of mobile plant on site
• Support testing of concrete and cube crushing

• Health & Safety team
• Transport teams
• Area Operations teams
• Area Commercial teams
• Area HR Manager
• Customers

The role is a DAYS role with OT available, but flexibility is 'key' as we operate nights and weekends to meet our production needs.

ESSENTIAL Experience

• Experience in plant operations
• Previous experience of a Readymix / Aggregates environment would prove highly beneficial
• Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
• Working knowledge of production processes
• Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
• Front End Loader license

DESIRABLE Qualifications

• IOSH Managing or Working Safely
• NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations

Skills

• Able to actively identify and implement site and process improvements
• Able to look for opportunities to identify customer needs
• Able to effectively communicate to feed opportunities into customer services / sales
• Ability to multitask and manage change
