About the Trust


Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (CANDI) are rated 'Good' in their most recent CQC report, providing high quality, safe and innovative care to patients in the community, in their homes or in hospital.

CANDI provides a variety of services including acute, rehabilitation, mental health and substance misuse.

Located in London, you will be working across an area with fantastic transport links and the convenience of big city life.


What you'll be responsible for

  • A 24/7 busy CSPA telephone service offering support for people in crisis as well as triaging referrals from professionals and the public. You should be able to document accurately and swiftly on electronic patient records. (You should have the ability to type swiftly and accurately).
  • Undertaking holistic assessments of people in crisis and deciding on collaborative treatment plans as an alternative to acute inpatient care or signposting to appropriate other community or third sector services.
  • Working as part of a closeknit team to deliver highquality personcentred care in the least restrictive setting. You will be using and offered training around the use of CBT/DBT, deescalation techniques, managing risks, brief supportive counselling skills to work towards shared treatment goals with the service user within their social system.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You'll have the following qualification/experience:

  • A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a similar role at band 6 level within a UK hospital environment within the last 3 years
  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
  • Undertake regular mandatory training*
    Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
