Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking, and self-motivated Band 6 Dermatology Nurse or a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist who wants to come and join our friendly supportive Dermatology Team?

This is an exciting opportunity to be in a leading role delivering high quality care and providing support to skin cancer patients and their families and helping to develop- and expand our skin cancer services.

The successful candidate will be developed to obtain skills to enable them to manage and maintain a case load of skin cancer patients, undertaking nurse-led clinics and performing diagnostic skin surgical procedures supported by the Skin cancer Specialist Nurse.

This is a 12 month fixed term post, 32 hours a week.

Main duties of the job Promote expert practice, facilitating the development of clinician's skills by acting as a role model, mentor and supervisor to provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence regarding common inflammatory skin diseases ( e.g . acne, eczema, psoriasis) in the clinical setting and will work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive service including expert care that the patients, relatives and staff can rely on for support and advice. Dermatology is the area of medicine that deals with conditions of the skin, nails, and hair.   • NMC registered
  • Education and/or experience at Masters level (or willingness to work towards)
  • Evidence of advanced communication skills training or willingness to do so
  • Leadership course or willingness to complete
  • ENB 998 ((Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice) / City and Guilds Cert Ed)
Experience and knowledge Essential
  • Experience in a nursing leadership role
  • Extensive post registration experience within the NHS
  • Significant proven experience at Band 6 within Dermatology
  • Experience of communicating with multi-professionals at all levels on subjects that may be sensitive or contentious
  • Knowledge and understanding of nursing / clinical audit
  • Knowledge of corporate and clinical governance

  • Evidence of implementing research based practice
