Haywards Heath, West Sussex, United Kingdom RSK Group Full time

The position will be a hybrid one, working from home and one of our many offices across the UK as required. Offices based in Altrincham (Manchester), Staplefield (Sussex), Derby, Birmingham or Home-Based.

It is expected that the post holder will take an active role in urban drainage activities nationally, the development of innovative ideas and participate in R&D projects both internally and externally.

Most of the project work undertaken by the company uses state-of-the-art computer software and involves the modelling of drainage and river systems and in particular flooding in urban areas.

The company undertakes work for a number of water and sewerage companies, as well as a variety of public and private clients.

As an example of the nature of the role, the Catchment Planner on our framework with Severn Trent Water liaises with Client stakeholders such as Service Delivery (operations), Asset Protection and Asset Creation to identify and prioritise the various risks within each catchment.

In addition to the risk identification and strategy development work the Catchment Planner is also the central communication route with Service Delivery which allows timely analysis and support to be undertaken to help with operational issues such as collapsed sewers, failed pumping stations and pollution.

They will also assist in the root cause analysis of these issues and development of any contingency/emergency plans.

As can be seen, the skillset and attributes of a Catchment Planner are wide and varied.
