Job Description

Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service are looking for two Family Workers to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are an enthusiastic and creative individual and are passionate about changing people's lives for the better, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note that this role may close early should sufficient applications be received, so early application is advised. This role is subject to Staffordshire Police Vetting.

As a Family Worker you will be providing support and advice to families in relation to substance misuse and its impact on the family. You will offer family focussed interventions which reduce the impact of substance misuse in families, particularly on children and young people, whilst working to raise awareness of and improve access to appropriate services.

You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with clients and their families, helping them get their lives back to where they want them to be, whilst managing an active caseload and ensuring continuity of care.

Required Skills

You will work as part of a team with the aims of:

understanding your clients and their families keeping them safe creating a plan they can achieve with your support checking in with them and reviewing their progress keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care

Ideally you will have experience of working in a health and social care, substance misuse or family setting. We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people and in different settings. You will also be results driven, highly organised with excellent time management skills and comfortable working on an outreach basis. Please note a driving licence and access to a vehicle is required to undertake this role.
