The role will involve managing a caseload of your own activities, with a focus on projects relating to waste, environment, and enforcement.

You will also be working as part of the team on other projects, to support us in delivering our internal and external communications.

You will be part of a friendly and supportive team, within a council offering flexible working arrangements.

Working pattern of our Media and Marketing Officers**:

  • Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
  • 37 hours per week.
  • A full week off over Christmas Plus 23 days of annual leave to use throughout the rest of the year, increasing to 28 days after 5 years of service.

About this Media and Marketing Officer job opportunity in Canterbury**:

  • This role will be primarily home based with regular meetings at the council offices/hubs when required.
  • You will support the Senior Strategic Marketing Manager and wider team in delivering communications that are strategic, well planned and driven by the Corporate Plan, research and insight.
  • You will create and deliver marketing and behaviour change campaigns that drive real, measurable results through a robust evaluation process.
  • You will ensure our campaigns follow best practice throughout the private and public sector.
  • Duties will include supporting media and marketing communications, campaign creation and delivery, and both on and offline content creation.

About you, the ideal Media and Marketing Officer for Canterbury City Council:

  • Your qualifications:_
  • A recognised marketing qualification or one from a related field and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Your experience:_
  • Significant experience in communication campaign creation and managing projects.
  • Significant experience in creating content such as social media content and printed material.
  • Demonstrable experience of partnership and collaborative working across the public, private and voluntary sectors to deliver improved outcomes.
  • Your knowledge:_
  • In depth understanding of using marketing and behaviour change techniques to create effective, valueformoney campaigns that drive results, internally and externally.
  • Comprehensive understanding of evaluating marketing and behaviour change campaigns.
  • An understanding of audience research, insight and segmentation.
  • Knowledge of how to create compelling content across a series of platforms.
  • Your skills:_
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to diverse audiences in writing and verbally on a range of topics.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise a challenging and flexible workload
  • Ability to work with a degree of autonomy as well as being an effective team player.
  • High attention to detail.
