up to £40,000 (depending on experience) plus £5,800 Car allowance

Contract Type:6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hours:37.5 per week


As the Health, Fire & Safety Advisor covering the North East and Yorkshire areas, you will support the provision of a competent and comprehensive health, safety and fire (HS&F) service within Care Homes and Anchor Extra Care Schemes.


Working within a regional team of HS&F Advisors, you will conduct and review fire risk assessments, conduct safety audits and training in order to support operational teams achieve excellent levels of compliance.

Together with these core functions, you will provide general HS&F advice and support to operational teams helping to ensure a safe environment for colleagues, customers and visitors etc.


You will be responsible for delivering a number of internal health, safety and fire training courses, including health & safety training to management and maintaining a high level of compliance of trained safety coordinators within Anchor Care Homes.


About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Full current driving licence
  • Relevant health and safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification.

You'll also have:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant areas of compliance relating to Care and Housing
  • Thorough knowledge of care operations and the needs of older people.
  • Accident/incident investigation.
  • Good knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Continuing professional development
