We have an excellent opportunity for a Portering Helpdesk Operator to join our team, based at Royal Bolton Hospital on a fixed term basis for 10 months to cover maternity leave.
As a Portering Helpdesk Operator, you will work closely with colleagues within the department and the Trust to provide a high quality service.
Job Role:
- Taking calls from all departments to enter Portering/Driving tasks onto the system in a timely manner.
- Prioritising Porter tasks and allocating to Porters
- Reprioritising tasks and Portering department workload on a minutebyminute basis.
- Liaising with multiple departments
- Checking and signing in of all deliveries
- Assisting the supervisor in day to day management/organisation of the Porters/Drivers
- Ensuring the loading bay area is kept free from vehicles or bins to allow other vehicles entry.
- Charging and maintaining handheld devices, telephones and satnavs
- Responding to daily bleep test calls
- Responding to urgent fast bleeps where required (Cardiac response team/Major Haemorrhage)
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Basic secondary education
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of Royal Bolton Hospital and the NHS
- Able to work under pressure
