Reed Finance is collaborating with an education academy located in Slough in the search for a Finance Director.
The main goal of this position is to offer efficient strategic supervision and operational management of the Trust's financial and IT functions, while also acting as a driving force for continuous enhancement in performance and processes.
Duties:
- Overall financial management of the Trust, encompassing the development and execution of financial strategies to uphold the Trust's objectives.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to facilitate decision-making by the Board of Trustees and senior management.
- Supervise the preparation of annual budgets in collaboration with pertinent stakeholders and ensure effective budgetary control throughout the year.
- Formulate income-generation concepts.
- Supervise financial reporting procedures, including the prompt preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and management reports, statutory accounts, DfE, and other statutory submissions.
- Oversee periodic tenders when necessary to ensure value for money across the Trust.
- Ensure a strong cash flow system is established and manage treasury deposit investments as needed.
- Lead a Central Finance team of 4 and an extended team of 2 school Finance Officers
Legal & Data Protection:
- Function as the Company Secretary for the Trust.
- Supervise contract commitments throughout the Trust.
- Coordinate GDPR compliance across the Trust and function as the data protection representative for the Trust. (Our DPO, IGS assumes the overall responsibility as Data Protection Officer)
IT Leadership:
- Create and implement an IT strategy that aligns with the Trust's objectives, emphasizing innovation, efficiency, and security
- Supervise the IT function, with the duty of cultivating positive relationships with external partners, vendors, and service providers to fulfill the Trust's requirements.
- Manage IT system, infrastructure, and resources
Facilities / Health & Safety Leadership (optional):
- Supervise the upkeep and progression of facilities, encompassing buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Lead a Central Facilities team of 3 (H&S & Facilities Manager, Senior Site Manager, and Deputy Site Manager) and an expanded team of facilities staff
To qualify for this position, you need to be a certified accountant. While experience in the education sector is not obligatory for this role, it would undoubtedly be beneficial.
Offering a salary of up to £85k plus comprehensive benefits. The option for hybrid working is also on the table.
