Working within our World Class Children's hospital, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of our Specialist Children's areas, including our Specialist Medical wards (specialist medical and gastro wards) and outpatients.

Main duties of the job The postholder will be responsible for: o Providing professional and clinical leadership within Children and Young People'sServices at RLH, specifically 7E & 7F. o Translating the organisation's vision and values into meaningful actions for teams o Managing teams within Children's and Young People's Services and holding theteams to account for the delivery of compassionate, high quality care. This includes ensuring that all patients have an up to date, evidence based care plan, includingsafeguarding and that is being actively implemented. o Managing teams within a highly complex environment taking in to account theethnically diverse nature of staff and patients o Ensuring that patients, their families, and carers are fully involved in assessment ofthe quality of care delivered and in service redesign o Monitoring and measuring the quality of care provided and taking the necessarysteps to improve care when issues are identified o Identifying areas for service improvement and implementing improvement initiativesusing evidence-based methodologies o Ensuring that all staff members have up to date appraisals and development plansthus facilitating all staff to reach their full potential About us Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.   • Evidence of knowledge of leading, managing people and services acquired through training and experience.

  • The ability to provide nursing leadership and clinical advice within the service and to lead and motivate staff.
  • The ability to apply flexibility to working practice to meet needs of service users and changes in service models.
  • Prioritising workload of self and others.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-professional multi- agency environment.
  • The ability to promote collaborative working with problem solving and resolving conflict when needed.
  • The ability to work with others to plan, manage and implement service developments.
  • Skills in IT and maintaining accurate data.
Desirable
  • Skills in conducting research.
  • The ability to monitor and evaluate the quality-of-service provision using performance data and implement necessary changes.
  • Manage budgets
  • Skills utilising Trust programmes such as Healthroster, Cerner
Knowledge Essential
  • Sound children's safeguarding knowledge and evidence of experience and practice related to safeguarding
  • Knowledge of current issues relating to patient safety.

  • Good knowledge of the acute care needs and management of acutely unwell children
Qualifications Essential
