Hook C. P. School is a thriving and successful village school. The school is in the process of registering a new childcare facility.

Pysgodyn Bach (Little Fishes) will initially operate four days per week, between the hours of 11.30 am pm to provide wrap-around care for our part-time Nursery pupils as well as other children between the ages of 2-4 years old.


We are looking to recruit a playgroup assistant to assist the playgroup leader in the safe and successful operation of the provision.


The main duties will include:

  • Working under the direction of the playgroup leader to provide safe, highquality care and early education for all children
  • Setting up play space to provide the children with a rich learning environment, ensuring all resources and spaces are fit for purpose
  • Leading a small group of children, liaising closely with parents / carers to ensure all needs are met
  • Reporting any concerns professionally and promptly (training given)
  • Assisting in planning, preparing and delivery of playbased activities appropriate for children aged 2 years 4 years and following routines for record keeping
  • Undergoing training and further CPD at times throughout the year
  • To have knowledge of and be able to follow local safeguarding procedures
  • To demonstrate effective interpersonal, presentational and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of child development
  • An ability to relate well to both children and adults
You will need to have a good standard of education including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

At least a Level 2 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning & Development or equivalent recognised qualification or willing to work towards a childcare qualification.

As a member of Hook C. P.

School staff, we expect our adults to always remain professional at all times - you will be a role model for pupils and families.


Schedule:

  • Phase 1: Monday to Thursday pm) 16 hours per week
  • Termtime plus three weeks during the summer holiday (approximately 10 weeks holiday per year)
