ABOUT BOSWORTH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
Bosworth Independent School is a relatively small school of approximately 300 students.

Boarding is an important and integral part of the school, and it enables us to offer a supportive family atmosphere, where students and staff can work and thrive together.

We believe in the education of the whole person and in the importance of boarding as part of this process.

Citizenship and social responsibility are important, if not essential, elements of the boarding experience, as are learning to live with and care for others.

House Parents at Bosworth School have a truly unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our young people.

The House Parent role is central to the positive social and personal development of our students. House Parents look after the wellbeing and welfare of our students once the school day is over. The role is busy and varied and will involve organising and running activities. You will be instrumental in helping students to forge valuable friendships by encouraging them to take part in activities.

Shifts are mainly in the evenings and weekends. Sleep ins may be required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
As a member of the Boarding team, you should carry out your role to support the needs of the students you work with and the School in general:
Wake every student in the morning for breakfast and morning welfare check, and inspect student bedrooms, filling in appropriate paperwork
Monitor the students' welfare and behaviour and report any problems to the Head of Boarding
Supervise students' Prep hour when required
Report student illness promptly to the School Nurse in the mornings. If emergency attention is required, call the emergency number or call an Ambulance
Ensure the smooth running of the boarding house generally in accordance with the Staff Handbook to maintain a friendly, welcoming and happy environment
At weekends, to help the domestic team with maintaining general cleanliness and tidiness in the boarding house
To ensure a visible presence in and around the premises of the boarding house at all times when on duty

Please note, this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and duties. A full job description may be shared upon request.
