Business Area:
The Safety Health and Environment team are part of Facilities Management, and work closely with the Operations, R&D and Commercial functions within AstraZeneca to deliver improvements in SHE across the Macclesfield Campus.
In addition to improvements, SHE supports the Business by providing Subject Matter Expertise across functions and represent the Campus with External Governance Bodies.
This exciting new role within Macclesfield SHE will be centred on developing a robust and sustainable Process Safety Engineering compliance framework.
Responsibilities:
Your strong Engineering, and SHE knowledge and experience will enable you to prioritise your efforts into areas of high risk, to assess the effectiveness of existing processes to establish an improvement plan to develop a robust Process Safety Engineering compliance framework for the functions across Macclesfield Campus.
You will develop robust preventative strategies that shape the organisation and culture, acts as the champion for Process Safety Engineering compliance, ensure risk assessments are clear, identify and lead the development of appropriate support technical standards in high-risk areas (such as pressure systems, equipment in explosive atmospheres, functional safety), maintain appropriate training and competency records.
You will develop response mechanisms to ensure that learning is capture through rigorous investigations to establish root cause and monitoring of corrective actions.
Partner engagement and management is key to the success of this position.
You'll provide direct Process Safety Engineering technical support in your area of specialism for ongoing compliance activities, Capital Projects and to support the broader business building effective working relationships with all functions, including Global Engineering.
Essential requirements:
- A Degree qualified Engineer or SHE professional.
- An experienced risk assessment study leader within depth knowledge of process safety management and risk assessment methodologies (such as HAZOP, LOPA, QRA etc)
- A confident communicator who is able to present optimally and influence across different levels of the organisation.
- Selfmotivated and able to work on own initiative
- Resilient with the ability to deal with complexity and uncertainty
- Strong leadership and strategic skills, with the ability to lead and inspire change
- Expert experience in one or more of the following Engineering SHE related topics:
- Functional Safety
- Equipment in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
- Pressure Systems
